Wollongong.life is owned and operated by NITROSITES PTY LTD (ACN 702 315 133, ABN 16 702 315 133), 10 Regent Street, Wollongong NSW 2500. In this policy, "we" and "us" means NITROSITES PTY LTD. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988.

When you create an account, claim or add a listing, send an enquiry to a business, write a review, submit an event, book advertising, subscribe to an email or contact us, we collect what you type in: usually your name, email address, and sometimes a phone number, business details and your message.

When you use the site we record basic technical information: your IP address, the country it comes from, your browser type, the pages you view and the links you click. We use this to count listing views and enquiries for the businesses listed here, to keep spam and fraud out, and to understand how the site is used.

Business listings contain business details such as a name, address, phone number, opening hours, website and photos. Some of it comes from the business, some from public sources such as the business's own website and Google Business Profile.

To run the directory and the What's On calendar: to publish listings, reviews and events, pass enquiries to the business you contacted, and send the emails you asked for, such as sign-in links, confirmations and the weekly weekend email.

To protect the site: forms are checked by Google reCAPTCHA, and suspected spam is held for a person to review rather than delivered.

To run advertising you book with us: to invoice you, run the campaign and send you its report.

We do not sell personal information. Marketing email goes only to people who agreed to receive it or to businesses about their own listing, and every marketing email has a one-click unsubscribe.

The business you contact receives your enquiry. Reviews and events you submit are published with the name you choose to show.

We use trusted service providers to run the site, and some of them store data outside Australia (mainly in the United States): our hosting provider, SendGrid (email delivery), Google (reCAPTCHA, analytics and maps), Meta (for advertising campaigns you book) and Stripe (card payments, when used). They may only use the information to provide their service to us.

We may disclose information where the law requires it.

We use cookies to keep you signed in, to remember events you save to My weekend, and for analytics. You can clear or block cookies in your browser; the site still works, but you will be signed out and saved events will be forgotten.

Passwords are stored only as strong one-way hashes. Access to personal information is limited to the staff who need it.

We keep information for as long as it is needed for the purpose it was collected, or as long as the law requires (for example, invoices for tax records), then delete or de-identify it.

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, have it corrected, or have it deleted. A business can ask us to update or remove its listing, and anyone can ask us to take down an image through the link on each listing. Send us a message and we will reply within 30 days, usually much sooner.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. If you are still not satisfied, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
